Golden milk

Golden milk is a warm, soothing beverage packed with anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting benefits. It's perfect for relaxing evenings or a gentle start to your day.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk (dairy or plant-based, such as almond, oat, or coconut milk)

  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger (or ½ inch fresh ginger, grated)

  • 1 pinch black pepper (enhances turmeric absorption)

  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for creaminess)

  • 1-2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (to taste)

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the Milk
In a small saucepan, combine the milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper. Whisk well to ensure there are no lumps of spice.

  2. Simmer Gently
Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Let it come to a gentle simmer, but do not boil. Simmer for 3-5 minutes to allow the spices to infuse into the milk.

  3. Add Sweetener and Oil
Remove from heat and stir in the coconut oil (if using), honey, or maple syrup. Add vanilla extract for an extra layer of flavor.

  4. Strain and Serve
If using fresh ginger, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into mugs.

  5. Garnish (Optional)
Sprinkle a little extra cinnamon or a dusting of turmeric on top for presentation.

Tips

  • For a frothy golden milk, blend the mixture with an immersion blender or in a high-speed blender before serving.

  • Customize your golden milk with a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom for additional warmth and depth.

Sip slowly, enjoy the cozy flavors, and feel the nourishment in every sip!
